What a difference 3 years can make.
Let’s face it – in ‘football time’, 3 years can be an eternity.
It was 2009, and Jim Zorn was trying his best to get out of DC with some shred of self-respect, with only partial success. In his 2nd and final season, Zorn’s Redskins had won just 4 games while being relegated to the basement of the NFC East. Fans were in outright revolt, their once heralded franchise the laughing stock of the NFL. The Redskins sported the 26th ranked...

Life is nothing more than a string of ‘moments’ stretching from birth to the inevitable end. What we do with them defines us. Some seize them. Some make their own. Most hustle past them unaware or ambivalent that their actions at any given time have meaning and power.
Not to go Gump on you, but in the moments that matter most in our lives, there’s no escaping it. We’re either the wind, or we’re the feather.
Moments matter. Moments birth both tragedy and greatness....

***Warning*** - this blog entry may result in buzzkill, irritability, and depression in some Redskins fans. Proceed with caution.
Redskins fans may be making a big mistake.
For years, we’ve eschewed and bemoaned the ‘wisdom’ of sports talking heads. The mocking disrespect heaped upon our beloved team and the organization that leads them has been continuous and almost unbearable. Bandwagon Redskins fans? No such thing. If you’re a Skins fan, you’re in it for the long...

Today marks the first day of Fall, but whether or not this new-look 2012 Washington Redskins team can rise or not remains to be seen.
I’ve heard quite a bit of talk this week about the Redskins being a ‘great September team’ that fades as surely as the green from the Fall leaves come October/November. I decided to do a little number crunching to see for myself.
From 2007-2011, the Redskins have racked up their highest winning percentage, prevailing in 56% of their games,...

I’m going to say something that is entirely illogical and counter-intuitive.
Sunday’s road clash against the St. Louis Rams is a crucial game for the Washington Redskins.
Crucial, you say? Are you kidding? It’s Week 2 of the NFL season – there’s no such thing as a ‘crucial’ game this early in the season. And what might an early road win against St. Louis really mean anyway, given just how hapless, hopeless, and just plain bad these Rams have been? We’re talking about...
